An EKG-ECG Electrocardiogram are machines used to measure the heart rate and the heart beat itself of a patient. An EKG can be used to check for any heart disease in a patient. EKG machines have 12 leads attached to sticky pads that are placed on the patient. These pads emit electric shocks that the EKG picks up to produce a cardiogram. It is important to note that EKG and ECG are the same device, just different region pronunciation.
