Medical equipment is a major asset on your balance sheet, but its value changes constantly. Insurance policies need accurate replacement values. Tax records require defensible depreciation documentation. Facility sales, mergers, donations, and relocations all depend on knowing what your equipment is actually worth. Angelus Medical provides independent equipment appraisal services backed by more than 20 years of buying, selling, and servicing medical equipment across Southern California.
This page covers everything you need to know before requesting Our Medical Equipment Appraisal Service, including the types of appraisals we provide, the methodology behind our reports, what your final report includes, and how the inspection process works.
Every appraisal at Angelus Medical follows a documented process designed to deliver defensible, audit ready valuations. We collect your equipment inventory, perform onsite or remote inspection, apply the appropriate valuation methodology, and deliver a written report suitable for insurance, tax, sale, or donation purposes.
We must have a valid credit card on file prior to start of any service.
If our inspection reveals equipment outside the original scope, we pause and notify you with a separate quote. We never include items in the report that were not part of the agreed scope. For maintenance or repair work uncovered during inspection, we can refer you to Our General Medical Equipment Repair Service as a separate engagement.
Types Of Appraisals We Provide
Different situations require different valuation methodologies. We provide all four major appraisal types and can include one or all of them in the same report:
Fair Market Value (FMV). The price a willing buyer would pay a willing seller in an open market transaction. Used for sale negotiations, estate planning, and equipment trade ins.
Insurance Replacement Value (IRV). The cost to replace the equipment with equivalent new or current model equipment. Used for insurance policy renewals and claim documentation.
Orderly Liquidation Value (OLV). The expected value if the equipment is sold individually within a reasonable marketing period of 90 to 180 days. Used for facility closures, mergers, and asset based lending.
Forced Liquidation Value (FLV). The expected value if the equipment must be sold quickly through auction or distressed sale. Used for bankruptcy proceedings and emergency liquidations.
